The Minor Collections are the most diverse. Leather work dominates, but nearly every kind of object is represented, and includes the only collection in Hungary of fine bookbinding.
The book design collection has books from the 15th century to the present, as well as illustration graphics and one of the world's largest ex libris collections, with nearly seventy thousand items. Also included are the two and a half thousand books from the Batthyány-Strattmann mansion in Körmend.
The department also holds all kinds of objects made from organic materials (ivory, coral, mother-of-pearl, wax, tortoiseshell, straw, meerschaum), costume and interior decoration accessories, and cultural-historic rarities and curios.
The collection features a spectacular array of fans from the early 18th to the early 20th centuries, and miniatures of similar standard, but almost unknown and awaiting research. There are also some mechanical-musical automata, including a world-famous figure of a saint.
The most highly-regarded section consists of a hundred and fifty ivory carvings, including some very valuable early medieval pieces.
