Colossal Museum Closure at the Museum of Applied Arts | Complete reconstruction of the palace designed by Ödön Lechner to come soon
 

The complete reconstruction of the Museum of Applied Arts, considered the jewel of Hungarian Art Nouveau, will soon begin, which is why the building can only be visited this week. At 0:00 on 3 September, the museum opens its doors for the last time to take farewell from its visitors with a 24-hour series of programmes before its complete renewal. Stay with us and share with us our last day! Sound the gong to say good-bye and to promise to return after the re-opening!

0:01–04:00 | Opening Party of the Closing Day – GLOBE TREKKER(Glass Hall)

 Budapest World Music Party Series (no ticket necessary for 10 years now), donations will be used to serve breakfast for those in need after 4 a.m.

DJ Optique is an iconic figure in the domestic world music party culture. He has been playing for twenty years at the capital's and rural entertainment venues and festivals. He has been a resident DJ of the Holdudvar and the West Balkans for years. Currently he is the world music DJ of the Szimpla Kert. His exclusive, world-class sets include the following styles: salsa, mambo, cumbia, ska, reggae, swinga, Balkan, bhangra, afro, Arab, Romany and various kinds of fusional ethnic music.

Joint lighting installation of Kiégő Izzók and MOME ANIM, which shows a few hundred masterpieces of the museum. Damján Lazin and Bálint Halasi, students of MOME, are both amateurs and experienced animation designers at the same time. While looking together for challenges, they make unparalleled video clips.
