It's like peering through a keyhole into the treasure chests of yesteryear, a feeling that our 16th and 17th century jewellery relics give. Most of these treasures are now on display at an international jewellery exhibition in Toulouse!

In addition to the co-organiser Musée national de la Renaissance - Château d'Écouen, the exhibition 'Gold and Glitter - Jewellery of the Renaissance' has been loaned by dozens of prestigious European collections, including the British Museum in London, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts.

From the collection of the Museum of Decorative Arts, a magnificent 17th-century násfa (a gold jewel with precious stones on a necklace), a pair of gold engagement rings and a rosary from the estate of István Báthory were also sent to Tolouse.
